Making your home more sustainable is not only beneficial for the environment but can also improve your living comfort and lower your energy bills. To make these sustainable investments more appealing, the government offers various subsidies. Below, you’ll find an overview of the key subsidies available in 2024 and 2025, with a special focus on the Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy and Energy Savings (ISDE).
Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy and Energy Savings (ISDE)
The ISDE subsidy supports homeowners in making their homes more energy-efficient. You can apply for subsidies for measures such as:
Insulation measures: Including roof, floor, wall insulation, and high-performance glazing.
Heat pumps: For both hybrid and fully electric systems.
Solar water heaters: For generating hot water.
Connection to a district heating network: If your home is connected to a collective heating system.
Changes in 2025
From 2025, several changes will be introduced to the ISDE scheme:
Subsidy for small-scale wind turbines: For business users, the subsidy will increase from €66 to €140 per m² rotor surface, covering approximately 20% of the investment costs.
Increased subsidy for HR++ and triple glazing: Due to higher investment costs, the subsidy for HR++ glazing and triple glazing will be increased. The minimum required area will be reduced to 3 m², and within two years, a second subsidy application for glass, frame panel, or door insulation can be submitted.
Reduced subsidy for heat pumps: The subsidy for heat pumps with a capacity of up to 12 kW, typically used in homes, will be lowered. For heat pumps with a higher capacity, the subsidy will be increased.
Additional Subsidies and Financing Options
In addition to the ISDE subsidy, there are also municipal and provincial subsidies available. These vary by region. It is advisable to check with your local municipality for specific local programs. Additionally, financing options such as the Energy Savings Loan are available, offering favorable conditions for energy-saving measures.
The Importance of Acting Early
Given the announced changes in 2025, it may be advantageous to implement certain energy-saving measures in 2024. This way, you can benefit from the current, often more favorable, subsidy conditions.
